I just took hold of an SVS SB12-NSD not all too long ago, and use the Anti-Mode 8033 unit. I must admit that this is the most musical combination I've ever heard in my system. I've owned quite a few subs in the past (was NEVER able to properly get them to gel in my space), and this 14" cube is simply outstanding. It is only for a 2-channel, music-only system as well.
If you read the recent Audioholics review, it pretty-much sums up how good it really is. It's not too shabby to look at, either.
I must admit, in my room, the Anti-Mode improves things just a tad, but I'll leave it there anyway, even if it isn't night/day without it. I do know factually that for certain rooms, it is a godsend.
Anyway, I'd recommend the SVS sub; it does/has everything you're looking for: small footprint, musical, digs deep and is well-controlled. Really fun to listen to.
