I have little experience with Paradigm, but I heard the same: amazing bass, lively, but highs a tad harsh. The Focal-JM Lab sound is very similar.
B&W are very neutral, I doubt that the highs are too weak. But they are sometimes a little bit 'boring', require a punchy amp. Sound close to Dynaudio, despite very different technologies.
By the way, I don't like Rotel at all. I had two Rotel power amps, they sounded really bad, and I tried one of their CD Player (15 years ago) and sent it back the next day.
