I am a very picky person, and have a tendancy to criticize and be unsatisfied, then today, I feel that I have to praise an incredibly good work that was made for me by LEE TAYLOR. (http://www.taylorspeakers.com/index.html)
He made bookshelf loudspeakers for me. I gave him approximate dimensions, a crossover schematic and the drivers I wanted to use - a Seas 5.5" mid-bass paper cone and Hiquphon 2/4" tweeter - and he made beautiful and extremely well built braced ported MDF enclosures covered with a superb real wood veneer, built the crossover, and they sound very, very good!
Not cheap - total (parts+labor+shipping) between $1,000 and $1,500 - but these speakers are exactly what I wanted, unique, and they look and sound like $3,000+ 'high-end' manufactured speakers!!!
Lee, if you read this, thanks again for an excellent work.
Yves
