Hi! I'm trying to put together a cheap, but good sounding system. After 20 years, my system has seen better days---channel is going, have to use 2 thin-bladed screwdrivers, quickly, to open the cd changer, etc. So far I've found a TEAC AG-790A receiver, and a Sony CDP-CE500 5 disc changer. Now, the speakers. Am I right in assuming I need 8 ohm speakers to work with this receiver? I see these speakers, Pioneer SP-BS21-LR, on sale at Newegg for $100 and a coupon code to make them $50, but they are rated at 6 ohms. I also see JBL Cinema Sound Series CSB6 For $100. I don't know how to rate speakers, so any recommendations anyone can make will be greatly appreciated. Here's the basic specs on the TEAC:
Audio Features
Amplifier Output Details 100 Watt - 8 Ohm - THD 0.9 % - 2 channel(s)
Sound Output Mode Stereo
Output Power / Total 200 Watt
Additional Features A-B speaker switch
Thanks
