Bass

I think the limitations of the forum format are working against you to some extent. If you were a customer of the shops I've worked for my first suggestion would be that I hear your system to get a better feel for what is going on in your room. Guessing in the absence of that, I have run into cases where people had mini monitors with a subwoofer and were complaining of lack of bass. In several of these cases the issue turned out to be with the limitations of the mini monitor. While a sub can do great things filling in sub 50Hz bass it usually doesn't work well augmenting mid bass frequencies. The 4" - 6" woofers in small cabinets can't move much air and in many cases start to run of bass extension in the 50Hz to 80Hz range. This often results in anemic mid bass performance even with a sub. That might be part of what you are experiencing. Room acoustic issues are also common in this range so that can be another part of the puzzle i.e. a suck out/cancellation effect.
