I would go with using the Parasound crossover as it will help assure a proper integration of the sub with your main speakers. So, turn up the sub's crossover to max (180Hz) and set the Parasound to LFE. Then, experiment with the crossover in the Parasound, possible. Start with 80Hz, the default recommendation.
It would be able to have more insight if you told us more specifics of your system. Which Parasound? What are your main speakers? What is the rest of your system?
