I would like to thank everyone who wrote. I got many wonderful suggestions. The cat jokes were "cute" as well. I spoke with the manufacturer today and he suggests I replace the driver. I will, once funds permit but in the meantime, I repaired it. I bought Locktite Stick and Seal because it specifically says it is safe for use on all types of rubber and it bonds instantly. It also will work in all conditions and will not separate from vibration. The photo of my repair isn't too pretty, but I only used 1 drop of adhesive and I smoothed it as best as I could. I let it dry for 8 hours today with a fan blowing on it. I played some music on it tonight, first not putting the volume up too much and it sounded fine. To give it a great test, I used a GRP cd of Billy Cobham who is an excellent jazz drummer. All the whacks came in fine with perfect pitch and definition and I played it at a pretty high volume, higher than I normally would. Peaks measured 100db on my Radio Shack spl meter.
Eventually I will replace the driver as I am very anal about my equipment (but aren't we all), but this will keep me happy until I can save up the funds.
Thanks again everyone.
Bob
