RE: Phase coherent, but not actually time aligned

What is defined as phase coherent then? Is not time-alignment necessary for flat phase response? Or does this definition of phase-coherent ignore the excess phase component associated with delays caused by driver misalignment?

Confused here, sorry.

Maybe I'm thinking "transient accurate" which is both time and phase coherent.

Cheers,
Presto
