How great a speaker was the Infinity RS1B?

I have owned this speaker for 25 years and have been extensively searching for a replacement but each candidate comes up short - either in bass response, dynamics or musical enjoyment. How far have we not come in 25 years? Do I really have to spend over $100,000 to find a replacement? Were these speakers so far ahead of there time and so reasonably priced ($5200) that they are still at the top of the speaker food chain?
