dagro, I may be able to help you here. I used to own a pair of Plinius SA-100 MK-IIs that I ran in bridged mono configuration and balanced mode. I have T-8s and HAD used Straightiwre Maestro speaker cables with no problems. I then replaced the Maestros with Nordost SPM Reference and blew 4 tweeters in 5 days. The problem turned out to be that the Plinius amps (in MK--II version) in balanced mode were unstable and the different inductance/capacitance/resistance of the SPM allowed this instability to blow my tweeters. When I used the Maestro again, NO problem. Plinius told me that an upgrade to the MK-III would solve the problem and that a 100picofarad cap in the circuitry would take care of this. They also BTW add another toroidal transformer. However, I ended up buying LAMM M1.1s and kept the Nordost and LOVE my system so I never did have to get the Plinius' fixed. One final point. Before I decided to go with the LAMMs, I was also considering using a zobel network to try to solve the instability problem. Otherwise, you may have to change speaker cables. Also talk to Plinius and see if they can help. I hope this helps.Frank P
