Hi, Mer:

The first batch of 20 Reynaud Twin Mk 2's to arrive in the U.S. earlier this year used an adhesive pad to hold the circuit board to the inside of the cabinet, and what has happened is that the circuit board has vibrated loose from the inside wall of the cabinet, and is flopping around on the terminal leads. This is probably the result of the longer shipping distances in the U.S. compared to France and Europe, vibration in the shipping process gradually loosened the circuit board from the inside of the cabinet wall.

The newer models of Twin Mk2's feature a wire-tie which secures the circuit board to a bolt on the inside of the cabinet wall, and are packed end-to-end in a long carton, similar to the Trente, instead of side-by-side in the cubic carton. In addition, foam blocks are used to cradle the cabinets on all sides, instead of corrugated cardboard inserts. It was felt that the U.S. transportation industry was a little harder on the Twins than their European counterparts, and these improvements were made to reduce the risk of shipping damage in the U.S. market.

Call me on my cell phone (818) 632-0692 or email me and we can see if they need to be repaired, or if the circuit board just needs to be re-affixed to the inside of the cabinet wall. If they need to be repaired, you can send the speakers to me I will either repair them and send them back to you in the newer design carton, or send you a new pair, no problem.

I'll also extend the standard one-year warranty to 5 years if you complete and mail the warranty form which I'll include in the return shipment to you. Whatever needs to be done, your only outlay at this point would be shipping to and from California, where I am located.
