I have a pair of the Piega P2s and I'm happy to say that I think these speakers are outstanding and a very good value for the money. I was at first a little skeptic about a ribbon tweeter and a conventional driver, not no more. I could not believe the bass extension, it's teriffic. The mids and upper frequencies are seemlees and smooth. Piega makes a fine speaker.
To answer your question, I think two driver of the same size will in fact increase the amount of bass. If the P4s are anything like the P2 you will not be needing much of a bass increase. I think you are on the right track, good luck with your speaker search.
