I have only listened to the first generation Diapasons (Adamante I, Prelude I and Micra I). They are unmistakably Italianate in the midrange, and maybe the closest thing to SF in terms of richness among the Italian speakers (Chario, Opera, Aliante etc) - in fact they are fuller sounding in the lower midrange like the older Sonus fabers (Electa Amator I comes to mind) than the newer SF like the Signum etc. But they are certainly not as fast nor as lively sounding as SF. The highs are also sweet but not quite as smooth nor as airy. They sound big for such small speakers but they dont quite image as well as SF. One thing also bothered me with the Adamantes - a big boppy one note bass, which I am quite sure is caused by its very flimsy stand. Diapason has since introduced two or three more Adamante iterations with a metal/wood stand that conspicuously looks like a SF rip off but I havent heard these.

Btw, why are you so curious about these other speakers?
