Of course it was in my system...lol. A guy I know brought over a pair of Klipsch Fortes yesterday. Now I used to sell this speaker when I was a stereo salesperson back in the mid 80's. It was always punchy and dynamic, but never a speaker I would consider buying. But there is one way to make this speaker sound great...and thats called Single Ended Triodes. We hooked them up to the AES SE-811 that outputs 12 wpc. And thats more then enough power for these speakers. The midrange was delicate, and very uncoloured(especially for the price). Imaging was above average. Dynamics and bass response were satisfying also. Were they better them my Cabasse? Well no, but then again I wouldnt mind listening to them for a few weeks. So if you wanted to get into SET on the cheap, these speakers or a pair of KG4's and Electronic Tonalities Paramour kit would be awesome. Throw in a Foreplay and you would have a system that would kick alot of audio butt! Now for kicks I wouldnt mind hearing what an older pair of Cerwin Vegas would do...lol.Regards
