Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

Let me state it a little stronger

I would never consider or recommend Vandersteens for any set up where they could not be placed at least 3' out from the front wall, and hopefully at least 2' from each side wall.

The best I ever heard a Vandersteen was years ago at the Havens and Hardesty store. That was a much earlier version of the Model 2 and I think they were at least 8' from the nearest wall boundary. The whole soundstage just floated in the middle of the room as if the musicians were there, it was magical.

But there are so many differences between Vandys and MLs that I can't understand choosing between the two. Personal taste should identify one design approach over the other.
