RE: powering magneplanar 12 speakers

Hmmm? 20wpc. Of course there's nothing stopping from giving it try, and may as well, but 20wpc is gonna be a bit skimpy.

In my experience with Maggies, starting with new MG-IIBs bought back in the day, to my current MMGs and 1.6QRs, I don't feel that they need boatloads of power.

Close to Sebrof's comments, I've used them with as little at 35wpc, and as much as 400+wpc, and found as little as 70-100wpc to do a good job with the models I just mentioned/have had ownership experience with. I've also used them most often with tubed amps with excellent results, but have also enjoyed them powered by transistor amps, too (the last amp being an Odyssey Stratos, which I thought was excellent and worked very nicely with the 1.6QRs).
