Home Speaker Asylum

General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

Funny little room you have there...

I see the corner of a wall opposite the bookcase... Is this an "L" shaped room? If both sides of the "L" are open areas then I would probably consider diagonal listening, with the speakers triangulated against the corner behind the rocking chair. A diagonal listening scheme would put your listening chair near that corner across from the bookcase. This unusual listening scheme might seem kinda weird at first but I can't imagine many other ways I would position speakers in that room - especially if the speakers are dipole planars like Magnepans. But, I would consider speakers that like to be placed near walls or corners rather than big planars if I were you.
