Very easy, but with a proviso.
Search on Peerless 830444; someone posted pics of the connections to the subwoofer and crossover.
Basically, the subwoofer and crossover can be removed with a hex wrench. I am not sure the size, but it is an SAE one. Take care when removing the crossover, as there is a coil thing on top that has to squish a bit to allow removal and insertion. Take care with the woofer, as there is a cork stick on "ring" that should remain attached to the speaker. The woofer is connected to the crossover through a screw terminal.
Assuming the woofer is dead, the original part was Peerless 830444. It appears the replacement is Peerless 832444. I believe these are Totem only parts and not available otherwise. The old woofer must be unsoldered and the replacement soldered on. One would think that the woofer would be provided with a lead wire to allow screw installation onto the cossover, but it isn't.
The woofer is $140CDN or so from Totem or a dealer. This is regardless of whether the woofer is installed or not; so you may as well have them install it.
BTW - I know this because I have had to replace both woofers, according to my family members because of the "Devil Music" I play on my system. I am using my dealers suggestion and getting a subwoofer :)
