JBL midrange replacement

First time posting. Here is my setup. Maggie MMG's, Canton sub, Alesis 250w/ch amp, Oppo 970, Grado cans, Harmon Kardon 5.1 and JBL E80's in another room. I use the JBL's when I play drums and disconnect one banana from each and turn the Alesis back on when sitting down with the Maggies. I like the P.A.-like growl I get from the JBL's but the midrange has alot of glare.
Any suggestions for a replacement for the 4" 100mm Polyplas midranges? Thanks in advance for any help.
Maggie MMG's bring me back to my beloved BES dipole sound
