Thanks for all the comments and especially Rob and Ozzy. One mistake I made was the sensitivity of the Klipsch, they are (98dB) not 91 so that could be causing a lot of confusion. I thought I remembered reading the sensitivity was 91dB but after checking the specs again I was wrong.
I can audition speakers but considering where I live I doubt in home auditioning would work, I'm a good distance from any decent audio shops. I'm outside Chicago and do plan to listen to a few more setups but I don't think dragging my amp and pre around is a great idea either but I might look into it.
More research is in order but the few posts I've made here and especially this one, and reading others has given me a better understanding of where to start.
