Nice review. I, unfortunately, am not enthralled with my 7es-3's. I bought them (2nd owner) like new, 6 months ago, and placed them in my second system in a 10 X 14' room, driven by McCormack DNA -1 (Platinum upgrades), Gill Alana Pre, and Esoteric DV 50s with Nordost Baldeur IC's and Speaker cable. I find them muddled, almost as if they have been pushed back in the wall and the sound is filtered. The classical, vocals, light jazz, and blues is so much more alive, crisp without fatigue, and overall enjoyable when pushed through my primary system (via Meadowlark Blue Heron II's).
I find myself straining to listen for notes, inflections, etc. that I know is present, but not being presented by the Harbeth's. I want to like them, but am seriously thinking of a change. I am not a hardcore audiophile, so please excuse my descriptions; but I would appreciate any thought/input.
