I have been a big fan of Wharfedale Diamonds since owning the original Diamonds back in the mid 80's. Back then I added a subwoofer and biamped @70Hz. I still have that pair, though one of the mid bass unit blew at some point.
I got another Diamond pair later in the 90's, but don't remember which version, which I am now using as tv-speakers for my monitor.
A few years ago I picked up two pairs of the 8.2s for my HT.
They were very affordable, and offered superior sound for the money.
ANd yes the center channel usually cost as much or more than the stereo pair.
I have never biwired or bi-amped them...
