using sub with full range w/passive driver

Considering trying my first sub(active) in a 2 channel set up where the main speakers (Forte's or Decware's) both have the passive resonator. Could there be a problem with that? Seems like the passive is going to pick up signal(so to speak) whether there is a sub attached or not.
