Just kidding.... Jim I'm pleased to invoke your thoughts.

Having gone from 2Ce Sigs to 3A Sigs after five years I can say the 2Ces are a little thin and definitely lacking in authority, have softly focused bass and show subtle signs of stress at high SPLs at my house.

I had been lusting for the Model 5 and then the 5A but just couldn't come up with the dough, we settled on the 3A Sigs but are still completely satisfied with them after a year, and for us they are an incredible value (no more lusting).

Having mentioned "affordable", could you elaborate on other speakers in the same price range as any Vandersteen model?
