Speaker kit recommendations

I am putting together an analogue room and need a piar of monitors and possibly sub. I am curious about speaker kits and the quality of the components. In the mid seventies I bought a kit from a local St Louis dealer - cabinet & components - I think it was called SpeakerKits. That was a fun project and fulfilling. The kit I am looking for will need to have cabinets too since I don't have woodworking tools. Thanks for your help.
