Here is my direct experience. It takes about 15-20 W to drive Quad 11L speakers perhaps 25-30 is best for Quad 12L. Stirling LS3/5A V2 works well with 25W. I won't speculate about speakers i don't own.
I will say that people are often too focused on speaker efficiency and not enough on the load that the speaker presents to the amp. For small amps you want a speaker with relatively high ave impedance (8 Ohms and up); a flat electrical load curve with no big downward dips and little reactivity (where the phase angle dives and the impedance goes straight up - beyond just issue of cabinet resonance in the bass)
The newest model Quads are voiced differently than the ones that are 2 years and older. For a bargain: used quads.
