Common believe that the above holds true. Stay away from SET. Pro Ac needed the additional warmth and palpability from the tubes. Avoid dry sounding amp.
The law applies here, bookshield can image better than full stander. Pro Ac received rave reviews when they launched Tablette 3. Not exactly cousin to LS3/5a but 3s took a different route from traditional British voicing, pinpoint imaging and more dynamic. As read from an audio mag, the designer voice slight his speakers to the hi. Thus, the hi most of his speakers sounded more prominent especially the bookshield. This of course, resulted thin sound. Another make sounded so close to Pro Ac is Vienna Acoustic.
All speakers have merits. It is the ability to match n mix other components to optimize the speakers.
