Strange Yard Sale Speaker Find

Hi All,

It's spring again, and Yard Sales are blooming. I found this interesting contraption at one last weekend. It appears to be home-made, as I cannot find any brand name printed anywhere. the cabinet seems to be made of solid fiberglass or some sort of plastic. One of the 3 grills is missing, and 3 of the 4 casters are broken, but it works. It actually sounds pretty decent, feeding it a mono signal gives quite an impressive spatial image.

I have never seen a speaker shaped like this. Any ideas on what this is or when it is from, or is it a hobbyist's geometric experiment?
