Either Pro Acs will not satisfy you if you listen to jazz in terms of weight and scale. 4" driver can only pump out limited low bass. I reckon that AE1 will be the most dynamic of the lot. Agreed that Response 1 is a more refined speaker from Pro Ac. The strength of Pro Acs are violin and vocal. Stay away from heavy stuff with Response 1.
Celestions are seductive with tubes. SL600 is an amazing speaker due to no colorations and ability to throw a huge soundstage even comparing with today speaker. The aluminium cabinet construction which store significantly less energy contributes to the boxless sound. Coupled with its dedicated sub, you have a full range speaker. SL600 marks the pinnacle of Celestion. Listen for yourself should 100w 845 do justice.
