I don't agree with the "smaller woofers sound worse" thing...ever hear a good line array setup? :)

Now, in a car, multiple drivers playing the same sonic range can suck, but if you're at home and can control comb filtering or other effects using good crossover design, I don't mind multiple-driver setups at all. Just takes more work.
