Whilst I suspect the power from your amp would be great and the neutral qualities I associate with passive pres would also be good, I am not quite so sure about "lean" as these speakers certainly so far, do not "lean' to the flabby at all.
It MIGHT just become a bit too edgy... but it would be interesting to know.
