I was mightly impressed with the REL R205, I think it's 1' square, but it kicks serious butt for being as small as it is. Uses a 10" woofer, is very quick, tight and nice to look at. All subs do not sound the same.
Look at the T series if you want something cheaper and perhaps more attractive.
