Of course the F-mods will kill the high end when connected to the output of the phono cartridge, they're too low of an impedance for the cartridge to drive.

F-mods cannot be used with passive preamps or TVCs either.

F-mods have drooping response at their rated cut-off point even when driven properly, they're passive.

You need an active filter (I linked to a good one).
