The 260i were my first speakers (late 80's)and the 760 were their larger brothers. The series was quite good value for money at that time. The downside (to me) was that, like many speakers in that era, getting details right also meant that the sound may be a little hot at times, so it makes sense to match it with warmer sounding wires or equipment, or maybe even padding around the tweeter area. However, the 760s do have much much more bass than the 260, so I wouldn't know if my experience with the 260 still applies.
