Ok, I had a few guys over we used my VPI with PASS Pre and Amp. Listened to Rock, Classic Guitar, Female and Male vocals, Blues. In my room 14 x 24 x9 sitting 15' from the front wall and speakers placed about 7' from front wall and 3 from sides.
Europa Max - provided an outstanding image, very clean sounding and tight bass. I was able to keep the speakers wide which produced a wide sound stage in between the speakers. Top to bottom integration of components and sound was Right-on very balanced. I had no sub woofer set up and could live with it the way it was. But would add a quality sub to bring out the bottom even more. They were very efficient and probably would ALSO sound great with a 40 to 100 watt tube amp.
Merlin. Very good depth and imaging, in my room it was overly bright and the bass was a little loose. Needed more power than the GMA's. Nice speaker very good midrange but probably not right for my room and electronics
My Usher's Were much better in the low end, Well balanced but didn't disappear like the GMA. I guess that's the trade off.
I would like to try the USHER Be718 and B&W 805's next..
It was a good day with good people listening to good music.
I would like to thank and recommend the dealer that came to my home to Demo the GMA (No affiliation) I think good service should be recognized
