Definitely not edgy in my system (Ref3, Ref110 or MC402). I find it cleaner, more neutral than the Compact 7. But I know the person I traded with really likes the Compact 7's, so there you go. It definitely takes more juice than the 7's to make it satisfying, but it is much less efficient. Volume levels are similar for satisfaction, although of course the 7's can go louder if needed.
