For what it's worth, I once made some home speakers from a set of parts. The tweeters were Boston Acoustic 701 silk tweeters that came as part of a 6" seperate car audio system. I remember getting great bass from a pair of 10" subs made by Stillwater designs, and beautiful highs from these tweeters. But I never did get the mid range figured out. Of course I'm no speaker engineer but it was pretty impressive what came out of these MDF boxes made in the garage from sitting parts. Part of might have been the fact that the drivers were all 4 ? parts and the Yamaha receiver seemed to drive the final product to pretty intense volumes.
These look pretty close to what I remember.
