I was kind of frustrated with my 2ces and the sound I was getting while playing them - I kept posutioning them by ear and they sounded pretty good,but not great - until today when I broke out the manual and followed the postioning exactly as explained in manual (total inches of room divided by 3,5,7 or 9 for front and side placement) and the amount of tilt for my listening position - OMG! bass like I never heard before with them , a tremendous soundstage and the detail I was missing all in spades - I beleive the manual is available at the Vandersteen site... hope this helps
