General speaker questions for audio and home theater.

I have these speakers, they have two 5" drivers. They produce a decent amount of bass but it is not very well articulated in the lower registers. My question is what size woofer would I have to go up to to get better bass? I've been told that two 5" ers have the same square inches as a 10" woofer. Also it has transmission line venting. Thanks.....DK
