Basically, it costs a lot more, takes a lot more effort, and requires a great deal more time to make an excellent acoustic suspension design as opposed to a 'good enough' ported design.

Shame, in my experience, acoustic suspension makes for the most articulated and deep reaching bass around. Midrange performance on a woofer shouldn't be a determining factor if used in anything other than a two-way design.
