Long ago in a galaxy far away, I worked as a salesman in a local hifi store, the late, lamented PUD's of Albany CA (their slogan, "What good is money if it can't buy music?" was later appropriated by Klipsch, without compensation I might add).

Mike and John, the store owners, bought a pair of L100's at retail just to have on the floor, to sell against. PUD's was an EPI/Magnepan/Servolinear dealer and just about anything anyone wanted to play sounded better on the house brands compared to the JBL's.

The L100's were so reliably awful we couldn't wait to play them for every customer who walked in. It was great fun. Their orange foam grills looked hideous too!
