I stack my doubles in a quasi-D'Appolito arrangement as suggested back in 1973 by HP's review in TAS. I once used the side-by-side arrangement, but that was for sound reinforcement in a high school gym in order to maximize horizontal dispersion.

You will find *hundreds* of posts regarding all things Advent over at vintage. Search for posts by Bold Eagle, a retired engineer, who has experimented with Advents extensively in the areas of crossovers, wiring, cabinet bracing, grill cloths, etc.

While they do not offer the last degree of transparency found with the better speakers today, they are nevertheless capable of very good musical reproduction and can reveal subtle differences upstream in the system.
