Ok,

Ok,I'am going to take a guess. It's mahogany with some type of oil finish, (Tung ?) & the mark was dark (moisture has made it down through the finish) before you rubbed some other stuff into it & turned it white. If that is the case, you will have to strip the surface, bleach out the stain & refinish to match. It can be done, but then again, you have to know what your dealing with in the first place. So many finishes, so little time.
