PSB Gold i requires additional crossover to Biamp?

I recently aquired two identical power amps in hopes to biamp my PSB Goldi speakers. My Preamp has three sets of outputs. Using two of those, I hooked up the two power amps so that one powers the 10" woofer (of each speaker), and the other drives the mid-range and tweeter (similarly).
In doing this, I removed the "jumpers" that formerly linked the binding posts. It sounds pretty good, but I just read that an additional crossover is required in this setup. Anyone care to shed a little light? Am I missing something?
