Active Crossover Question - Any reason other than sub-optimality to not use amp + integrated?

Is it possible to biamp using an electronic crossover using the following confirguration:

Source ---> Preamp --> Active Crossover (AC)

AC Output 1 --> Stereo Power Amp or monoblocks
AC Output 2 --> Integrated Amp (stereo)

I understand that the fully pre-amped signal is going into the crossover, to be amplified on the crossover output. My monoblocks (for the bass) are 225w triode. I am anxious to try out the crossover and while I don't have separate monoblocks for the treble yet, I have an integrated amp (13W SET amp with what I believe is an Alps pot volume control).

I am wondering whether, even if far from optimal, this would be feasible.
[with the Alps pot being used to balance the level (unity gain vis-a-vis the original preamp is, by definition, possible, even if not always easy to estimate by ear)].

Any caveats?
