You're right. I just rechecked what I thought were places where the vinyl had scraped off and actually they were places where the finish on the walnut got damaged. They still didn't look all that fine. Glad to hear you have improved the cosmetics and the 12" driver. I have heard that the life of foam surround speakers is limited due to foam rot. Should I be worrying about that for the 15" driver after 12 years?
