I posted a while back whining and complaining about my Thiels, and many people lead me in directions I never knew existed. The value of Audio Asylum is a thousand times more helpful then any magazine could ever be. What a great bunch of people.I listenened to many of the speakers people suggested. In the end, Spendor and Audio note both had me very impressed. (speakers I would never had considered without your help)
What have I learned? It's not about $$$! It's about getting the right speaker that fits your room and your listening preferences. And guess what... money has nothing to do with it. I just traded in a $8000 dollar speaker for a $4000 speaker and like the sound MUCH better. Hmmmmm. Even the moderately priced Spendors knocked my socks off in a way my big expensive speakers could not.
I also learned how important it is to listen to others here on this board. They can lead you to very good places! I'm done with Magazine reviews and silly recommended component lists thanks to all here.
