I have 4 600 watt mono amps and each amp has it's own circuit wired directly to the main panel with 12 gauge bx.If an amplifier is not happy driving a adverse impedance load, it is irrelevant how many watts it puts out, the measurements that Stereophile put out for the Signature N801 indicate that this speaker deeps below 3 ohms in the midrange not only that it has an adverse phase angle in the same region, In otherwords, the speaker is most tasking in the midrange, therefore any amplifier limitations are going to be reflected there, congestion and loss of soundstage focus are classic traits of a struggling amplifier, if you want to keep the amplifier, sell the speaker or vice versa. Anyway I might be interested in a N801 going for a good price :-)
