Re: The Linkwitz 'Vivaldi' Speaker

I auditioned these long ago and still had some notes:

2. The Audio Artistry Vivaldi ($4,500).

The Good News:
• *Incredibly* accurate midrange.
• Excellent macro and micro detail.
• Nicely extended, detailed highs.

The Bad News:
• Not as much dynamic range as typical speakers (dipole?).
• Bass is deep, but not as deep as other speakers (dipole?).

Impressions:
Still not broken in... Wonderfully portrayed midrange. Nicely extended highs with *lots* of air. Bass is deep, but errs on the side
of the conservative in midbass (break-in? dipole effect?). Good, but
not great soundstaging.

-----

I only had a moderate amount of time to audition them but if memory serves, I thought they were very nice.

I believe I heard them on Rowland electronics, but unfortunately not on any other amplification.

Hope this helps.

Happy Listening!
