Epos ES 12,Ruark Epilogue, Celestion A, Paradigm Mini, Audionote AX-2, Paradigm 20s, Quad 11L (great speaker), and so on.It's hard to go wrong with small 2-way 8 ohm (86-87 dB) monitors that retail new for more than $1000 or so from most quality mfrs, but of course there are exceptions. But in general, these are easy to drive, have great mid-range and trebble, fantastic imaging, and are totally non-fatiguing to listen to. Some mfrs try to add more bass and dynamics, like Dynaudio. Stay away from them. They are querky and demanding downstream. Epos and Rega and Paradigm are sort of middle-priced, quality speakers, a touch below Proac, Spendor and Harbeth, but great deals. I think my favorite for the money are the Quad 11 and 12L's. But, honestly, the differences are hard to hear between the $2500 and $1000 (New) sets; used they can be had for half price.
You really can't go too far wrong. The tiny NSM's , is it, also look intriguing, but are rare.
